Preparing for finals was a lot different. Some teachers reviewed with you and some didn’t. In high school, all the teachers reviewed. Studying is the student’s responsibility and college really emphasizes that.

Now that you are nearing the end of the semester, in what way(s) do you find preparing for finals to be different or the same as preparing for the end of the term in high school?

When I first got to Tech, I was blown away by how active the campus was. The entire campus hosts events every other day if not everyday. There’s always something going on. It’s a nice gesture, but it can be exhausting. Also, another thing I find surprising is the free time between classes. I never had that in High School and it’s nice, but it’s up to me to get my work done.

It’s a different setting, but once you get used to the routine, you just go with the flow and watch the time go.

Here’s a place to start: Now that you have had an opportunity to transition from home to college, what are some of the things that you find most surprising about college life?
